BIRTH OF A WRITERS' MANIFESTO??

Well well well.

The crazy and fairly meaningless spats of the last week regarding wee ezines, Zoetrope and 'insider publishing' have broadened out into a far more interesting and meaningful discussion.

You can follow the start of something here.. a post addressed to Dave Clapper of Smokelong Quarterly (which is a good place)

LITERARY REJECTIONS ON DISPLAY

Wow. Great manifesto - speaking as someone frustrated with fiction publishing for the better part of a decade. What's said here all makes sense. It would be depressing if not for the fact that I know I'm not alone in feeling this way. And I love the concept that a writer's boycott, initiated right here in the blogosphere, could completely change the face of American literature!

Count me in on this!

hello Emily the author... I'm not sure I want to 'change the face of American literature'!! The debate seemed an interesting one... covering topics such as payment, markets, etc etc...

it is sad to hear you are frustrated with publishing...
do add your comments on the debate over there on WR's blog.
