Needless to say I am delighted, and honoured. This is a great competition, attracts over a thousand entries per year from all over the English-speaking world.
I am looking forward to this one.

Very exciting, Vanessa! When do they launch the 2008 competition, do you know? The website still seems focused around the 2007 results.
Hi Sarah
Its well and truly lunched... link here:

hmm
didn't get the whole link in... I'll put the link on the main post.
Thanks, Vanessa, that link works. So... is the winning story going in the Anthology which is published in July and launched at the Bantry bash? I think that must be right? I suspect I ruled out entering on the grounds that having two flash fics in the Anthology was more than my fair quota of good luck!
All the top pieces are gathered together in the annual anthologies. I'm sure they will be following the same pattern this year.
It makes for a very good collection; a range of genres (literary, history, crime, and the short short pieces), but with one fundamental similarity... sparkling writing!
Can't wait to read your winners!
Thanks, Vanessa. I was lucky enough to win a copy of one of the 2006 anthologies as per Jock's recent email quiz. I shall be able to read your story!
Wow, you're on a roll... congrats!
